A mold with concentric growth which had developed two full rings and
part of a third was alcohol rinsed, divided in half by a thread, and intentionally
treated on one side for three months with the following results:
Control Side: no further growth, 2.5 rings
Treated Side: 3rd ring filled out, 4th ring completed, a 5th ring formed
