This booklet was published in 1980 under the Golden Publishing logo. It has 46 pages of pictures to color.
The cover shows the 4 girls standing by a train holding suitcases. The story captions tell the tale of Sarah and Kate as they take a train to visit Aunt Nell and Uncle Cal in Maryville. Carrie and Becky stay with Mom and Dad as the four of them take a drive to visit with Cousin Louise in Apple Grove.
The book shows the enjoyments of the city trip and the country holiday, and finally a family reunion as everyone returns home.
The delights of city life are compared to the country enjoyments here, with Sarah and Kate shopping in town while Carrie and Becky enjoy a summer festival, square dance and new bonnets from Cousin Louise's Hat Shop. It is interesting to note the back cover shows a train depot labelled Apple Junction with time schedules to Maryville. This suggest that the Gingham girls' hometown is named Apple Junction.
Dear Minxkelly, WHERE CAN I FIND THEM?
I get dozens of emails a week from people wanting to buy the paperdolls or coloring books and all I can tell them is to look on ebay. EBAY is where I found each and every one of my Ginghams items. I have none to sell so please do not ask. sorry!
