The Ginghams Color Book

The Ginghams On the Go Color Book

This booklet was published in 1980 under the Golden Publishing logo. It has 46 pages of pictures to color. The cover shows the 4 girls standing by a train holding suitcases. The story captions tell the tale of Sarah and Kate as they take a train to visit Aunt Nell and Uncle Cal in Maryville. Carrie and Becky stay with Mom and Dad as the four of them take a drive to visit with Cousin Louise in Apple Grove. The book shows the enjoyments of the city trip and the country holiday, and finally a family reunion as everyone returns home.

The delights of city life are compared to the country enjoyments here, with Sarah and Kate shopping in town while Carrie and Becky enjoy a summer festival, square dance and new bonnets from Cousin Louise's Hat Shop.

It is interesting to note the back cover shows a train depot labelled Apple Junction with time schedules to Maryville. This suggest that the Gingham girls' hometown is named Apple Junction.

Dear Minxkelly, WHERE CAN I FIND THEM?

I get dozens of emails a week from people wanting to buy the paperdolls or coloring books and all I can tell them is to look on ebay. EBAY is where I found each and every one of my Ginghams items. I have none to sell so please do not ask. sorry!
