With some time to kill before their scheduled projects several kids come in to enjoy the free play. They smile and sit down to color together.

There's plenty of crayons and drawing paper, so Amanda pulls out several sheets and hands paper to Austin, Maria and Chase. They pass some over to Kusafiri, Heather and Brian at the other table.

With children this clever and creative the ideas flow in no time. Amanda can't decide what to draw so Chase suggests something she saw today. Maria says "What about that owl we saw in the woods?" Amanda's eyes light up. "Yes!!!!"

Amanda looks over and says "Whatcha drawing Austin?" He giggles and replies "Aliens!!! from Jupiter, coming to steal all the owls from Earth!" Amanda hmphs with a little giggle. "Not MY owl! they won't! he'll just fly away and hide." She draws his wings extra strong to be sure.

Amanda's owl is charming, and Maria says it is beautiful. Chase is drawing a cruise ship that his parents got to go on last year with lots of water around it. Maria's picture is of the big apartment building where her babysitter lives. "It has a gazillion floors!" she says.

At the other table Heather is happily coloring a flower on a hill. She smiles as Kusafiri draws a picture of herself as a princess. Brian is pretty dedicated as he tries to remember every detail from his front yard at home.

The kids are all very pleased with their pictures and Janine looks over their shoulder to tell them how nice their work is. She tells the kids to put their names on them when they are finished and she'll make sure they get to take them all home.

I will edit and upload the photos and stories as fast as I can so check back often for new stuff.
