I tried to make larger carousels, but ran into the problem of motors burning out. If I wanted to stay in the arena of simplistic building, then I should stick to the small red motors. I set the motor in the well of the standard ramp baseplate, with a sm all plate lifting in and out to allow access to the on-off switch. There are a total of 8 horses here. At some point I will definitely remake the carousel using dragons, alligators, swans and other things and allow a much higher number of riders.
