Minx's Ceramic Creations: Fantasy & Rennaissance Themes

Here are photos of the various fantasy, art nouveau and rennaissance projects I have painted at a local ceramics studio.
(see below for the link, it's a FABULOUS place to work!).

Sorry, none of these pieces are for sale, but feel free to email minxkely@xnet.com if you are interested in a custom piece for yourself!

Lovers Platter
December 1998

I made this platter with an image from one of the first drawings I ever
sold of a rennaissance woman and her erstwhile suitor. It was made as a
gift for my husband. It took me approximately 15 hours of work to produce.
13" wide, 19" long, 1" deep

Deep Dish Fish
Mermaid Platter
September 1999

I truly enjoyed making this large deep rectangular serving dish. I
took a drawing I had done years ago and expanded it from a partial
piece of a a mermaid clinging to the rocks, to a full length mermaid
playing on the ocean floor. I did each scale freehand and it took a
very long time, but was well worth the effort. It took about 25 hours
to make.
11" wide, 16" long and 5" deep

Art Nouveau Femme Ginger Jar
December 1999
This began as a gift for my mother with a floral theme
in a stained glass style, but when I decided to add the
woman the piece grew a mind of its own until I knew it
was no longer something in line with my mother's tastes.
Sadly I was forced to keep it for my very own, a common
mishap with artists. okay, we're just plain greedy.
This piece took approximately 20 hours to produce.
8" diameter at widest point, 11" tall
