There were two painting books that I know of, a simple Paint Book that was published in 1979/80 that simply had thick non-smear pages suitable for paintbrush or markers, and a special Christmas Paint with Water Book that was published in 1980. (see link below).

This cute painting book was published in 1979/1980 under the Whitman Western Publishing Logo. It includes 24 pictures on thick pages. The copy I have is incomplete unfortunately, So here are a few of the pictures.
