Mastermind Colleen

Welcome to the chatter page for the Nicarong Tribe! Feel free to post straight as if you were talking with quote marks, Colleen says "I can't believe I CHOSE this over Boot camp!"

or post an action you are attempting. if it involves someone else's character you can only speak for what YOU do. If it involves luck or chance such as trying to catch fish, post what you do and a mastermind will post whether or not you succeed.

Mastermind Colleen

for example, Colleen goes out to catch some fish, she uses sand grubs for bait on her twisted earring hook on a stringthread from her skirt hem.

(later on) Mastermind posts : "You had no luck today at fishing, but you SAW fish in the water"

Mastermind Angie

Welcome Lil Survivors!

Apr 12, 2001

Pierre

Pierre is looking for dry wood to build a fire.

Once I get the wood I start trying to get the fire started by hitting two rocks to make sparks together over dried leaves that are laying against the fire wood.

00:57
Apr 17, 2001

Mastermind Colleen

good thinking Pierre, but you aren't quite at your camp yet.

Inita seems to be doing a great job with the compass and the map. Aggie and Marissa are having a slightly tougher time keeping up with the older kids. Trey and Pierre are carrying the box. It's tough going, but you stop for a short break and pass around one of the 2 large water bottles. You guesstimate that you have come 1/4th of the way.

08:04
Apr 17, 2001

Trey

"While we are stopped, I need to change to my brown hiking boots for better traction. Then we should make better time. Hey Pierre, I saw you trying to start a fire with those rocks, are you a boy scout?"

08:30
Apr 17, 2001

Mastermind Colleen:

Dragging anything in this jungle heat seems impossible as the sweat trickles down your back. You are hot, and really thirsty too...but know that those 2, make that 1 1/2 big bottles of water need to last you til you can get to camp or find more. The younger kids are tired, hot, and thirsty, and almost feel like crying. You see a few land crabs on your way to camp, not many, they are mostly nocturnal one of you remembers reading, and you definitely see a few hermit crabs. What is a little freaky are the scurrying sounds and the sight of huge lizards, 2 or 3 in fact that slip off in the brush as you approach. They like to sun during the day, and lay around in various places. A monitor lizard is black and has yellow splotches, and range in size from 6 inches long to a couple of feet. If they try to pick one up, you will probably get bit, assuming you could catch it...but for now at least you are too tired to even try. You may see some birds in the banana trees, sap suckers, working over the flowers. which are big and sort of purple on a stalk on the banana tree...And there are vines hanging around off of the trees...a few trees have the strangest roots, huge and curvy, rippled like ribbons of bark and wood in a tangled mess. You also see some very TALL palm trees, and some of the shorter ones that have green coconuts on them. You hope there will be some of these by your camp as that survival book mentioned have coconut milk in them that is sweet and thirst quenching.

You are just about halfway to your camp now. At least there seem to be a few springs that appear to be freshwater.

09:03
Apr 17, 2001

Aggie is sick and tired of being tired and hot. she sits on a rock and just cries for a little bit, watching to see if the others even notice her.

10:59
Apr 17, 2001

The hike is long, but FINALLY! you find it, a semi-cleared out area, some sandy beach that leads onto harder green grassy soil. Everyone just falls down tired and dumps their packs. The water gets passes around and someones finishes off the last of the 1st big waterbottle. Only one left to share. You'd better do something about water today. At least you found a freshwater stream about 20 minutes walk away.

The sky looks clear, but the air smells wet so you can't tell if there will be more rain or not. The view is incredible! bright blue ocean as far as the eye can see. The water at the shore's edge is clear and bright and you see shells, definitely fish! though they move away as you go splashing in. There are fronds of seaweed waving in the water, and you recall the warning about fire coral and jellyfish, what to watch out for and to stay away from them.

Yes the camps are identical. hahaha it's what you do with it from this point on! There are trees and branches that need clearing, a camp to be set up, an inventory to be made. Stomachs are grumbling so you might want to unpack soon and see what's in there to eat.

14:46
Apr 17, 2001

Laura Elizabeth

I walk over to Aggie and ask her if she is okay...and ask if she wants some help, or if she just wants someone to talk to

15:41
Apr 17, 2001

Meghan

Meghan lets the others know that she is going off to find some fresh water to fill the water bottles with.

She asks little Aggie if she wants to come for the walk, thinking it will take her mind of being miserable.

15:53
Apr 17, 2001

Aggie stops crying but sniffles a little and cheers up when Laura talks to her.

She thanks Meghan for asking, but says she is too tired to walk anymore today.

She sits on a big branch and starts putting the loose branches nearby into a little pile for a fire later.

17:38
Apr 17, 2001

Pierre

After setting down the huge box Pierre looks around to get an idea of how the camp should be. He sees Meghan going for water and since there are the 2 big bottles, plus an empty big blue watertank, he carries the watertank and tells Megan he will come with her.

17:41
Apr 17, 2001

Mastermind Colleen

After checking what was divided among the packs and what was in the box, you have 1 bottle of multivitamins:500 tablets, 1 bottle ibuprofen: 100 tablets, 1 bottle sunscreen PF 16, not a big bottle, so use sparingly, 1 pound bag of rice in a cloth bag, 4 small wooden barrels of instant oatmeal, plain, unsweetened, each barrel looks to hold about 25 cups of instant oatmeal, 1 bar plain white soap, 1 small brown bottle of betadine for scrapes and cuts, 1 emergency flare, 2 large plastic water bottles (only 1 full one left) 2 liters each, 1 round canteen (holds 2 quarts), 1 large blue water tank (holds 2 gallons), 1 large green tarp semi-waterproof, 1 large rope net, 1 large cooking pot, 1 compass, 1 small shovel, 1 knife, 1 map with locations marked for campsite, tribal council, and challenge beach, 1 large wooden crate with separate lid:

1 list of Island rules: "Due to religious laws on Sunday there is to be no outdoor fires, no harvesting of marine life or collecting of seashells. On Sundays only, no sleeveless shirts or shorts, mini-skirts or bikinis may be worn. No fishing or hunting is allowed on Sunday." "No damage to the coral reefs will be tolerated. Do not stand on them or break off pieces. "

19:32
Apr 17, 2001

Aggie looks at the wooden canisters. "oatmeal? yuck!" I only like oatmeal with raisins. She goes to her pack and pulls out her ukelele and starts making funny faces and singing. "yucky mushy oatmeal goo, tastes just like some doogy poo, ain't got much else here to do, wanna go home now, boo hoo...." then she just strums the mini guitar to herself....

19:45
Apr 17, 2001

Moon decides to open up some of the packs and then put the ones not in airtight containers aside. She uses the knife to cut a small square off the netting (careful to tie off the ends) and then she hangs this little basket from a branch to hopefully keep out any bugs or crabs.

She waits for Pierre and Meghan to come back so maybe Pierre can show her how to start a fire.

19:49
Apr 17, 2001

Mastermind Colleen

Being the clever girl she is, Meghan wonders as she approaches the stream, whether even the islands freshwater is safe to drink without any preparation....

20:04
Apr 17, 2001

Meghan (Meggie can be her nickname)

Meggie decides that she cannot be sure about the water being safe enough to drink so she decides to make sure the water all gets boiled for 5 minutes and then put back in the bottles.

20:09
Apr 17, 2001

Marissa " Mad Dog"

Marissa volunteers to be the cook. She's helped her Mommy in the kitchen at home alot

21:22
Apr 17, 2001

Pierre

gets a fire started for the cooks. then takes the stack of wood Aggie gathered and moves it closer to the fire. He looks up, wondering how to set up their tarp to the best advantage.

21:32
Apr 17, 2001

Aggie helps Pierre with the sticks then looks around "Where are we going to go potty?"

21:40
Apr 17, 2001

Trey

Trey tells Aggie, "Don't worry about that, I used the shovel to dig 2 holes, one on each side of the camp. One for the girls and one for the boys. They are each behind the trees so no one will see you. And they are far enough away and deep enough to not contaminate our camp or the water".

Since it is starting to get late Trey asks Pierre where he thinks the tarp should go. Trey gives his opinion, "I think since this is a rain forest, we need to put it in the highest spot on the campsite. That way the maybe the rain won't run thru the tent, and we can get a breeze at night from the ocean. What do you think?".

23:40
Apr 17, 2001

Trey

Trey sayes, "It is really late and we all got up really early this morning. We even missed our afternoon nap. But before we go to bed I think we should move this big box by the tarp and put all our supplies back in it so no animals run off with it while we are asleep". Then Trey moves the box and starts filling back up with all their precious supplies.

23:48
Apr 17, 2001

Pierre agrees with Trey and offers to help him hang the tarp from some low branches. "Maybe tomorrow we can make a lean-to"

23:57
Apr 17, 2001

Mastermind Colleen

good thinking all of you! you are lucky in that it does not look like rain tonight! but at least you are prepared in case there is a morning shower.

the oatmeal is instant oatmeal, just add hot (or even cold water), but don't expect much flavor. mwahahaha. have a good night!

23:59
Apr 17, 2001

Moon offers to help Marissa with the dinner mush. It's not much, but says maybe they will sleep better with food in their tummies.

00:03
Apr 18, 2001

I'm going to bed now so assume whatever you try works out just fine (except for finding tha hidden treasure chest of canned goods) and I'll see you in the morning!

let me know how exactly the tarp is used so I can do the camp photos...

good nite!

00:15
Apr 18, 2001

Marissa

Marissa sees that the others are shivering and cold, so she offers to share her blanket. Maybe they will be able to get some sleep if they can stay warm. At least it's not raining. Marissa wonders if they should put the tarp over the top of the shelter, to keep the rain and wind out.She tells the other her idea.

10:09
Apr 18, 2001

Mastermind Colleen

the temperature was a balmy 82 degrees this morning, with 78% humidity, and during the night reached a low of 71 degrees.

Today is overcast and if you look to the sea about 20 feet out the water looks choppy, but closer and it isn't as bad. Not a good day to go swimming so you hope the challenge doesn't involve the water today. you'll have a better guess once you check your tree-mail for clues to tonight's reward challenge.

11:08
Apr 18, 2001

Pierre wakes up and checks the fire, adding some more branches.

He sees mostly everyone elese is still sleeping. He puts some water on for the morning oatmeal...

11:37
Apr 18, 2001

Mastermind Colleen

Noone noticed when Aggie slipped off this morning just for a little bit, but they see her coming back into camp looking a little sheepish.

14:58
Apr 18, 2001

Marissa asks Aggie if she's ok. She wonders where she was !

15:15
Apr 18, 2001

Trey

Trey wakes up late but energic. He knows they have lots to do today. But after hearing that Aggie went of by herself, he thinks maybe they should have a few rules.

Trey asks tells the rest of the tribe, "'Mornin', oh great job Pierre, you were able to keep the fire going. Now we can all have a warm bowl of oatmeal. Thanks! What do you think if we make a few rules? Just for the safety of everyone, I think everyone should stay in groups of 2(at the least) anytime they leave this camp. That means going swimming, hunting for wood & food. I would hate to see anything happen to one of us".

15:29
Apr 18, 2001

Moon doesn't necessarily agree.. "I know we should work together, but certainly I know I like my time alone as well as the next person. also there are always those private necessary activities like going to the potty..."

15:34
Apr 18, 2001

Aggie says she is fine, went to go swimming and just got spooked by a turtle.

15:36
Apr 18, 2001

Mastermind Colleen

I am assuming Trey meant warm leaf full of oatmeal. you don't as yet have any bowls... :) did everyone get their tree-mail?

15:39
Apr 18, 2001

Mastermind Colleen

As Pierre is putting the oatmeal back away he notices the bar of soap is gone.

15:40
Apr 18, 2001

Pierre looks around. "Hey, whoever used the soap last, please put it back."

16:58
Apr 18, 2001

Meggie

Meggie agrees with Trey that everyone should stay in at least twos when they go away from the camp but if they are just going to the bathroom or hanging around the camp, it is ok to stay by themselves. She also asks anyone if they want to come with her to scout around to find wood they can hollow out for bowls and spoons.

17:24
Apr 18, 2001

Mastermind Colleen

it is time for the reward challenge, if you read this and are ready to play, emal me and I'll send you the challenge. you will have 30 minutes to reply with your answer(s)

you have until midnight central time to request the challenge from me...

18:36
Apr 18, 2001

Trey

Trey sayes, "I am going out to look for some edible bananas or coconuts. Anyone else want to come and explore with me?? I have divided the oatmeal out into daily portions so we don't run out. What else do we need to do??"

19:17
Apr 18, 2001

Mastermind Colleen

Trey, how do you divivde the portions? there are 4 wooden mini barrels each holding 25 cups of oatmeal. what do you use to store the portions in? Do you open all 4 barrels?

19:26
Apr 18, 2001

Meggie

Meggie returns with bunches of wood-mahogany, bamboo, walnut and teak. She puts them in a pile and asks the others to help her scoop out the larger pieces with the knife while she sharpens the smaller pieces into more tools. When those are made, she gives them to a few of the others to keep hollowing out more bowls and to make spoons.

20:42
Apr 18, 2001

From Colleen: Meggie, you do find bamboo, but no walnut trees on the island, you see lots of palm trees, ones with VERY twisted roots that are a dark wood, and a reddish wood cro what is called a canoe tree... they are tough to carve but you could probably manage 1 bowl a night.

(hate to be such a party pooper but that's my job...someone's got to do it)

21:59
Apr 18, 2001

From Colleen

In the early evening hours a light shower begins, warm rain that trickles down from all the layers of foliage. Better make sure all backpacks are closed and food is safe.

23:19
Apr 18, 2001

Trey

Trey sayes, "Look what I found! A papaya! I actually found 4 but the others weren't quite ripe. So we can save them till we really need them. I just wonder how close the other tribe is. I hope they don't find them & eat them first. Meggie this is a great idea to make bowls and eating tools. Pass me some wood and I will help'.

23:34
Apr 18, 2001

Peirre

Hey Meghan I will help you with the bowls.

23:38
Apr 18, 2001

From Colleen:

with 3 of you working on the bowls it seems to go faster. the knife gouges out the centers then you can rub it against something hard like a stone or another piece of wood to round out the insides. It is still tough work, but you get 3 and 1/2 owls done total tonight, but your hands are sure tired.

23:45
Apr 18, 2001

Trey

'Oh no, its starting to rain. Lets move our tarp to the highest ground and tie it to the trees with some of the rope from the netting. But we need to save a much netting as possible cause we are gonna need it for fishing later. Then if there is enough room for all of us to sleep, bring in the supply box and our backpacks to keep them dry.'

Trey askes everyone if they remembered to do the reward challange so we can get some more supplies.

23:48
Apr 18, 2001

There is just barely room under the tarp for all the players and the box. It's a very tight uncomfortable fit though, no room for rolling around. In fact it occurs to a few of you that fewer bodies would make this shelter a lot more comfortable.

23:57
Apr 18, 2001

That was from colleen :)

23:58
Apr 18, 2001

Pierre

Hey My hands hurt from doing these bowls, and we don't have enough for every one to eat out of. Why don't we grab some sea shells and use those as bowls. We can boil them to get them clean.

After getting some sea shells, I go and find more wood for the fire through the night so that the light rain won't put it out.

00:02
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

after finding more wood I look into the area where every one is. I decide to take a couple of sticks and put them above the head of my sleeping bag and and slide into my sleeping bag and take my shirt and put it up so that the rain hits the shirt and rolls off and not my face.

00:06
Apr 19, 2001

From Colleen:

as it happens, Kosrae is known for huge seashells called tridachna. You easily find several and inside is an oogey oyster like creature that makes Aggie a little nauseous when she sees it.

00:10
Apr 19, 2001

From Colleen: no sleeping bags here, sorry Pierre, but there are still a few players that need to check in, you don't have sleeping bags. (though your team may win them tonight, it's a close game so far!)

00:12
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

Pierre mumbles something in Cajun French, when he realizes he just pulled his pants up around his neck thinking they were a sleeping bag but decides to stay where he's at. (sleeps with 3 brothers at home and generaly ends up on the floor any way.)

00:19
Apr 19, 2001

From colleen: the answer was of course, Kosrae, one of the 4 Federated States of Micronesia

with 3 no-shows, the scores are done....Nicarong scored 75 points

Ocono scored 63 points: Nicarong wins the goodies, they'll be delivered in the morning. to Ocono, better luck next time!

01:15
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

Pierre gets up and gets his umbrella and puts it over him so he won't get so wet. Pierre is mad at himself for not thinking of the umbrella before he gave himself a major wedgie.

01:18
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

While he was up he tossed a couple of logs on the fire to keep it going through the night.

01:19
Apr 19, 2001

Marissa shivers from the cold, her stomach growls. Those oyster like critters in the sea shells are looking mighty good righ about now. Marissa wonders if they are edible ?

07:56
Apr 19, 2001

Trey

Trey wakes up early, now that they have won the first reward challange he is anxious to get camp into shape. Hoping they will be there for a while. He plans on getting the campfire area cleaned up with logs surrounding it to sit or lean on.

Trey wonders if the oysters that Pierre found can be eaten. He has never eaten any oyster before, but hey if they get hungry enough later on, it would be good to know.

08:10
Apr 19, 2001

Trey

"Morning Marissa, I didn't realize you were awake too. Hum, seems like great minds think alike. Maybe we should try to open the papaya and cut it up in 8 pieces, so the others can have some when they wake up."

08:15
Apr 19, 2001

From Colleen: You wake up to a humid 80 degrees overcast day. The grey skey almost suits your mood. The showers kept up on and off most of the night and there are still light sprinkles off and on. humidity is at 88%.

I hope you are able to gather your wits and your stamina! The immunity challenge will start at noon and will have a deadline of midnight central time.

The rain seems to bring out the worst in nature as every bug on the island seems determined to share your shelter. You find yourself shooing away several small toads.

08:37
Apr 19, 2001

From Colleen

As Nicarong rises, they see Gia sitting with an umbrella at their fire. Next to her is a plastic bag. She smiles and starts handing out the goodies, the spice jars, the frying pan, the pouch of 6 fishhooks and lines, a small handheld fishing net(the kind with a net hanging off a rounded frame, like a butterfly net), the mosquito netting and bug lotion, a case of soda, and a box of sugar cookies, enough for everyone to get 2! There are 8 sleeping bags, and the best part is the pump filter, a handpumped contraption with a long tube. You pour the water in one end and then pump (and boy will it make your arms tired!) to get the water through the filter in the center. But no more water boiling at least!

Her packages delivered, Gia nods and walks away with her umbrella and the empty plastic bag.

08:45
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

Gets up, repositions his pants a little, looks around, and see's the things Gia brought and gives a loud Yieaaaaa, (kind of a victory yell for Cajuns) He helps around the camp. And tells everyone that those Oyster type things if boiled in water and fully cooked should be good to eat. He then says he is of to look for some wild herbs to compliment the seasonings.

11:41
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

Before he leaves he tells everyone that we will gather more of those Shells when he gets back, but not to eat any of those oyster like thingy's that are not extremely fresh.

11:44
Apr 19, 2001

From colleen: 2 from Ocono and one from Nicarong did not do the challenge yesterday. I was emailed though from 2 of them that it was due to server problems and could not be avoided.

Today's immunity challenge will be available in about ten minutes. email me when you are ready to go....

Remember whatever tribe loses the immunity challenge will be emailing me tomorrow with the player's name that they want to send home....

13:26
Apr 19, 2001

Meggie

Meggie urges the Nicarong Tribe on enthusiastically proclaiming that they can win the immunity challenge since they won the challenge last night.

She also praises Pierre for his quick thinking about using the shells as bowls. She has eaten konk before from big shells and they are eatible, she tells the bunch, but again Pierre is right about not eating them if they are not very fresh. She takes a piece of papaya and goes to help cook the konk type creatures.

13:47
Apr 19, 2001

Aggie scarfs down her soda and cookies and gets the hiccups. She looks longingly at the rest of the cookies.

"If anyone doesn't want both their cookies...maybe we could work something out. I hate oatmeal and won't eat those oogey oyster things. they look too wiggly!"

15:35
Apr 19, 2001

From Colleen

just FYI there is still no sign of the soap

16:19
Apr 19, 2001

Meggie

Meggie tells the others that they can cut up the conch creatures after they are cooked and mix them in with rice.

She asks the group who would like to go down to the beach with her to go fishing now that they have a net. First she puts on a little insect repellant.

18:03
Apr 19, 2001

From Colleen

Gia asks during the challenge for a tribal vote: do you want to know how each individual scores? or just the team results?

post here or email me with your vote

18:07
Apr 19, 2001

Trey

'Hi Meggie, sorry I didn't get down here to the beach to help you sooner. What can I do to help you fish? Have you had any luck yet. I made a fishing pole from one of the hooks we earned last night and a piece of the rope netting and a long stick. I hope it works. Maybe with several of us we can attract some fish'.

20:34
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

Hey all I could find was some ginger. I didn't see any wild onions or wild garlic or any thing else good. I didn't even see any wild hot peppers. Hey Meggie and Trey You need some help fishing?

20:55
Apr 19, 2001

From Colleen

I am still available for anyone who needs to do tonight's challenge still...

Meggie, what do you use for bait? do you try to fish right by camp or go down a ways or wade into the water?

21:01
Apr 19, 2001

Laura Elizabeth (my sisters and brothers call me Lolli)

Hey guys, sorry, I was the one that didn't get the challenge done last night! Mom and Dad's computer server went down!! Some dork decided NOT to call the "Before you dig" number and CUT their line!!I'm really sorry!

I ask Aggie if she wants to do the swap of the oatmeal and cookies...I love oatmeal!!!

21:07
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

Hey we can see dem fish. I am going to go get a stick with a sharp end and try and spear them like thibedauex does the gar fish back home.

21:12
Apr 19, 2001

Laura Elizabeth "Lolli"

I ask if anybody needs my help and start trying to figure out ways to give us more shelter...I wonder if there are any leaves or something, like they used on thatch type roofs...wonder if there is any grass type stuff around??

Lolli starts looking for any long grasses type stuff....we can use some of the longer grasses and tie them together with another piece of grass, and put up another shelter...that will give us more room for each of us to have our own sleeping space..what do you guys think?

21:14
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

Hi Lolly you want to go get sticks to stab the fish with?

21:14
Apr 19, 2001

Laura Elizabeth "Lolli"

Pierre, that sounds good, we can look for the long grasses at the same time!

21:16
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

OK Lollie I'll help you we have oyster stew and oatmeal to eat and I didn't sleep good last night because of the rain.

21:16
Apr 19, 2001

Lolli

Lolli giggles, I know what you mean Pierre! It is sort of like sleeping with my little sisters at home! They aren't quite potty trained yet! :)

Let's see what we can find!

21:18
Apr 19, 2001

From Colleen: TONS of huge leaves and long grasses, but when you are looking around at one of the trees with the funky swirly roots you come on a cluster of long ugly worms! It looks like those mangrove worms you saw on survivor outback! the one they said was full of protein (but made one of their players throw up)...

Pierre, you do have the fishline and hooks now. do you try to spearfish close to camp, away from camp? where Meggie is fishing? or what...

21:19
Apr 19, 2001

Lolli

Hey! Do we have any containers to keep these little wormy things in?? Bet if we boil them long enough, they will start looking like spaghetti!!

21:21
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

Hey these worms will work fihing, Lets take them to Meggie and them sothey can fish. then Lollie and me can try spearing a few by wading out into the water near camp, for a little while then try to fix the camp. does that work with you Lollie?

21:23
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

Lolli we ate worms once and they are yucky. We can do that if we can't eat any thing else lets just give them to Meggie for bait.

21:25
Apr 19, 2001

Lolli

Okay, we can take them to Meggie...bet they might help her catch something! My Grandma uses worms and grasshoppers and chubs and all sorts of stuff for bait when she takes me fishing! wonder if there are any of those big gross looking bugs around! HEY! Grandma says that, for bigger fish, she sometimes wishes that she had toads!! Wonder if those would work! There were a few last night! Wonder if we can find some!

21:30
Apr 19, 2001

From Colleen: You could probably chase down a few frogs. Let me know how many people are fishing and with what please :)

21:52
Apr 19, 2001

Aggie gladly gives up her oatmeal and scarfs down the extra cookies.

She looks utterly horrified when she hears the comment about fishing with frogs.

"Worms and frogs and oogey oysters? you guys are just gross!"

21:55
Apr 19, 2001

From Colleen: with half the players from each team counted: the halfway score is Nicarong 93 points, Ocono 64 points, 2 players from each team currently taking the challenge

22:29
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

Aggie I think I saw some lizards earlier, If you want I can get some and we can fry them up? Smiling elfishly

22:42
Apr 19, 2001

Aggie squeals and runs away fro where Pierre is. She sticks out her tongue.

22:51
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre and Lollie go out to spearfish and while they don't bag any fish, they do manage to trap a spiny lobsters! basically your regular lobster with no claws and really long antennae. Pierre should know JUST what to do wit dat dere sucker! he spied some crawdads out there oo, a little skinnier than the mudbugs from the bayou though.

23:10
Apr 19, 2001

that last bit about the spiny lobster was from Colleen

23:11
Apr 19, 2001

Lolli

Pierre and Aggie, want to help me pick some of the long grass...that way we can make some more shelters

does anybody want to look for something to make a frame for the shelters? Like some long limbs and branches?

23:18
Apr 19, 2001

Pierre

hey when we get done with the grass I can go get some long stcks as far as that goes we could use our spears. Tomorrow I am going to use that net and get us some crawfish to eat boil them up and they are good. MMMMM or you can eat them raw like my Uncle Rufus. You hear that Aggie?

00:19
Apr 20, 2001

Gia stands there looking much bedgraggled at having counted so many fish, and so many varieties! cinnamon cowfish, clownfish even sawtooth scuttle fish, tetras and groupers (and she was even subjected to a website on the mating habits and organs of groupers! oh my!) The favored website was fishsniffer.com submitted by no less than 4 people...

But all challenges must have a winner and a loser.....

With 1 player not participating (Brooke) the scores are Nicarong 182, Ocono 122, even if Brooke comes to play there is no way Ocono could catch up. Think hard Ocono on who you vote for tomorrow. Do not necessarily choose Brooke, last email contact was 2 days ago, and sometimes life intrudes... but your decision must be your own. I'll see Ocono at tribal council tomorrow.(email me your votes by 9pm central please)

00:20
Apr 20, 2001

From Colleen: I need to know if Pierre, Trey, Inita, Lollie and Marissa would like to know individual scores or just team scores. Ocono voted to know individual scores...

00:22
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

I am going to put some wood on the fire so that it will burn through the night.

I have also put that wonderful Lobster in to boil so that we can have a midnight snack.

00:42
Apr 20, 2001

Inita

(Inita has been watching carefully at all that has been going on so far. But now she feels safe enough to start venturing out.)

Inita can't get to sleep. So she checks on the others and makes sure Aggie is tucked in snug as a bug and that Lollie has her yellow teddy. Then she joins Pierre by the fire awaiting the midnight snack.

00:56
Apr 20, 2001

Trey

Trey is disappointed in his first fishing trip. But when he started, He didn't have any bait. Tomorrow will be a better day, since he also realized they had fishing line instead of the rope he was using. They will get the hang of this soon he hopes. It is gonna be nice to snuggle up in their warm and cozy sleeping bags, after their yummy midnight snack of lobster.

Hum, tonight seems like a good night for a song around the capmfire, everyone has had a busy day. Trey asks "Aggie, can you play us a song on your ukaleli(sp)? It might help us all relax before going to bed. ANd I can't wait to crawl into my new warm sleeping bag. Thanks to everybody for doing a great job in the reward challange and winning us immunity tonight."

01:05
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Hi Inita, You'll like this Lobster it taste good. It is almost as good as crawfish.

01:06
Apr 20, 2001

Trey

"Oops, sorry, I didn't realized Aggie had already gone to bed. I hope i didn't wake her and Marissa. Inita, glad to see you are feeling better. Just in time for Pierre's gor-met snack."

01:10
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

After eating the part of the Lobster Pierre decides to go to bed and he starts to get into his sleeping bag and jumps up screaming in Cajun French. when he calms down he says there is wet sand in my sleeping bag. I think there is a snake in it. So he picks up a log from the pile of wood for the fire and then he shakes his sleeping bag up side down. to see what comes out.

01:11
Apr 20, 2001

From Colleen, Aggie is sound asleep, she turned in early.

Nothing comes out of the sleeping bag but sand and 1 tiny bit of branch.

01:17
Apr 20, 2001

01:20
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Sorry every one it just scared me. Where I am from if you find stuff like that in your sleeping bag it might be a snake. You now some snakes are poisonous, and can kill you. Every one should shake there sleeping bags out before getting in them.

01:20

From Colleen: Yesterday's Reward Challenge

Ocono Tribe: Lola scored a 12, Lyda Ruth scored a 9, Roxie scored a 10, Mandy scored a 13, Cobra scored a 10, Wanda scored a 9, and Brooke and CJ scored zero.

Apr 20, 2001

Inita

Inita says softly: "Good night Pierre. Sleep tight. Don't let the bed STICKS bite! LOL!"

"And thanks for stoking the fire and cooking the midnight snack."

01:28
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

I am so sorry for screaming but I knew that good ole stick snake had me. I didn't meen to scare any one. Good night and sweet dreams, Inita.

01:30
Apr 20, 2001

From Colleen (I get these from a daily weather on Kosrae website)

You wake to another overcast day, showers off and on though less than yesterday. What has gone up is the heat index (the quivalent of the wind chill factor) so even tho it is only 86 degrees, the heat index makes your body feel it is 96 degrees...Anything over 90 and you should be careful.

This is not the day to overexert yourself. Remember to stay in the shade and to drink lots of fluids... sunstroke is a serious possibility on the island.

10:06
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

As Pierre wakes up, he looks around and and just sits there quietly as if deep in thought. After about 15 minutes he gets up and puts some more wood on the fire. He thinks "It sure is hot today but have to keep the fire burning." he then puts some water on to boil so that everyone can have breakfast.

He looks toward the water and say's softly as not to wake anyone, "I am going to see what those little crawfish taste like yea."

11:08
Apr 20, 2001

Trey

Trey wakes up and sees everyone is still asleep. He slept good in the new sleeping bag. He wants to go fishing this morning, maybe since its early, he can catch a fish. He gets the same pole he used yesterday, some fishing line and a hook from the reward challange and one of those big fat worms Lolli & Pierre found yesterday. He puts on his Aussie camo hat sunglasses, and a long sleeve shirt to stay out of the sun. Oops, he better add some wood to the fire to keep it going. Trey walks down the beach looking for good place to fish. He sees a bunch of big rocks by the water, climbs the rocks, puts a worm on the hook, and throws the line in. Now he just has to be patient....

11:18
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Pierre waves at Trey as he walks down to the water with the net. He is deterimened to eat crawfish TODAY!!

11:54
Apr 20, 2001

Trey

Trey waves back, and motions for Pierre to come on over. "Mornin Dude, How did you learn to cook so good? That was great rightious last night. What ya looking for today?"

12:04
Apr 20, 2001

Peirre

12:06
Apr 20, 2001

Peirre

Thank you Trey. They teach us back home if you hgoing to eat you going to cook. I Am looking for them crawfish they maake good bate and good eating. I LOVES MY CRAWFISH!

12:07
Apr 20, 2001

Trey

"I've never had crawfish, but I've had lots of shrimp. I hear they taste a lot alike. I'm game! Do you need any help huntin for crawfish? I caught 2 small fish, almost enough for lunch. If we caught some crawfish, that would give us more. I hope Aggie will eat this, I think maybe we better clean them over here so she doesn't know what they looked like before she has to eat them."

"Have you seen any bamboo on the island yet? If so, maybe we can use that as a form for our shelter. We can tie palm and banana leave to the top for cover. We are gonna need some more shelter from the sun & rain. Awesome, I just got another bite, lets see if I can bring him in."

12:35
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Trey I am dipping for the crawfish now with the fish and crawfish if I can get them. we will eat like kings. But crawfish don't taste like shrimp they are better!

12:43
Apr 20, 2001

Peirre

Hey Trey we have 9 crawfish lets dip it again.

12:49
Apr 20, 2001

Peirre

Hey Troy you want to go swimming after while? Whern we're done with our chores of course.

12:57
Apr 20, 2001

Peirre

Maybe Inita would like to come with us.

12:58
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Hey where is Moon? I havent't seen her, today. She seems a little shy. I can't think of any time I heard her talk.

13:41
Apr 20, 2001

From Colleen:

Now that Pierre mentions it, it occurs to him that Moon is often off by herself, thoughwhen he goes fishing he might see her off down the beach a tiny bit, making patterns with her rake in the sand.

13:45
Apr 20, 2001

Inita

Inita stayed up too late watching the fire and had to sleep late. The jet lag and time difference must be throwing her off.

But an afternoon swim with Pierre and Trey is just what she needs to perk up. First, she will check the water supply and make sure there is enough.

14:01
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

hey Trey Man we caught us only two more crawfish. Maybe if we try later in the day toward sunset, we might get some more. Maybe we eat another midnight snack of crawfish tonight.

14:21
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Good morning Inita. you need to wipe that sleep from your eyes girl.

14:23
Apr 20, 2001

Aggie screams and ear-bleed shriek when she sees what Pierre is holding. "Those are disgusting!" She runs back under the shelter from where she'd just woken up and pulls the covers over her head.

14:27
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Oh Aggie cher this is lunch and midnight snack maybe it is as good as strawberry's dipped in chocalate. They really are good eating petite cher.

14:30
Apr 20, 2001

Aggie thinks of the icky muddy bug things dipped in chocolate and runs for the potty area with a greenish tinge to her face.

14:35
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Looking down at the ground, "man I feel bad I didn't mean to get the petite cher sick no I thought every one liked crawfish. i know Yankee's don't always know what is good. My mommy told me that.

14:40
Apr 20, 2001

Marissa

Marissa says " I really enjoyed the crawfish"! I'm anxious to try cooking some of the coch critters!!I was afraid we'd have no food, but we seem to be eating well! Is there anything I can helpd with ???

14:58
Apr 20, 2001

Marissa

" Wow it's so hot out today, we could probably cook with out the fire ;) Anyone for a swim ?

15:01
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Marissa We don't have enough of them to eat yet but you can boil some water if you want them or we can go swimming and use these for bait.

15:04
Apr 20, 2001

Marissa

" If we could find some Bamboo, maybe we could make a fishing pole. That would make it a bit easier. The lobster was sooooo good, I'm so glad you know so much about these critters:)

15:10
Apr 20, 2001

From Colleen

after the showers finally end mid afternoon, the skt is still overcast but it is much colled off. the temperature is only 80 and the heat index is down to 77. Everyone feels much relieved and not so sluggish.

15:12
Apr 20, 2001

Marissa

" Maybe we should use them for bait, and see if we can catch enough of something to feed the whole tribe. " I don't know if Aggie will eat much of anything we catch. I fell bad for her "!

15:12
Apr 20, 2001

From Colleen, there is green bamboo around quite a bit. it turns yellow after it dries out a day or two. It occurs to Pierre in this humidity that unless the mudbugs from this morning get cooked that they will spoil very quickly in this heat. That goes for all seafood.

15:14
Apr 20, 2001

Moon walks up and hears Marisa. "She can't be too hungry then if she can stand to be picky. Those look good to me! I just wish we had some hot sauce for them. I'll bet a little pepper in the water might flavor them up too. Should I see if there is any lime trees around here?"

15:57
Apr 20, 2001

Marissa

" That sounds great Moon" :)

16:08
Apr 20, 2001

Moon comes back with 3 small limes. "There were more on the tree it was a little way past where the boys "room" is. I wanted to leave them there for later though.

16:12
Apr 20, 2001

From Colleen

Aggie comes back from the girl's potty and just goes under the shelter to lay down.

16:24
Apr 20, 2001

Marissa

"Aggie you ok ? You seem emm... A bit out of it"

16:29
Apr 20, 2001

Marissa

Marissa wonders how Aggie will last as miserable as she is. " I wonder if there is anything else bothering her, besides her stomach ?"

16:31
Apr 20, 2001

Aggie says "I'm fine now. I just there were more cookies instead of oogey old bugs and stuff." She drinks a big gulp of water. "Maybe it's just too hot."

16:37
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Hey Aggie I am sorry if what I eat makes you sick. But it is good and good for you. Do you like fish? I will try to set a trap with the bamboo and some string to catch a something small for you to eat. Is that OK. But Aggie you have to eat something other than Cookies. It will make you sick.

16:56
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Pierre goes off to gather the things he needs to catch a small animal. He hopes he can catch a rabbit or something.

16:58
Apr 20, 2001

Aggie just ignores Pierre and drinks more water. She grabs her ukelele and starts playing (not very well, but better than a total beginner)

17:06
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

I couldn't find any rabbits but I left my trap out there just in case there are any possum or racoons.

Pierre just goes backdown the path looking for something.

17:49
Apr 20, 2001

Lolli

I am going to start trying to put these poles that we found up and make another shelter...Anybody wanna help?

I start tying the poles into a frame...tying sticks together at the ends and making a roof that is big enough to sleep at least 3 of us comfortably...

19:06
Apr 20, 2001

Moon walks back into camp with Pierre. She goes by the fire and takes out the frying pan, mushing together some oatmeal a pinch of spice, a tiny bit of sugar a tiny bit of cinnamon, and she rolls 2 papayas on a rock til they are soft then squeezes the juice out onto the pan. She makes little patties of the oatmeal stuff and then fries them until they are crispy. "Ta-da! Here Aggie. An oatmeal cookie! They are small a little crumbly, but taste good." She makes enough for 2 cookies each.

19:48
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Moon you are too much that is fantastic. Hey I will help build more Shelter.

20:06
Apr 20, 2001

Meggie

Meggie had used the net to swim out to catch the fish. When she comes back with some fish, she also reminds the group that she had brought back bamboo at the beginning, when she first hunted down wood. Some of their eating implements are made of that bamboo.

Meggie goes over to help make the sticks into frames for the roof. She also compliments Moon on those great oatmeal fried cookies.

20:25
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

I think I am going to go try and net some more crawfish. Aggie Are you doing better?

21:22
Apr 20, 2001

Aggie mumbles "sure am!" through a mouthful of oatmeal cookie. She practically jumped up and down when Moon showed them to her.

21:26
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Make room I have supper! Poor Pierreis pulling the net and some big leaves loaded with Crawfish! OH we eating good tonight!! Boil some water and put some pepper in it an dthrough thes in until all of their tails curl up tight. If the tails are not curled don't eat them.

21:33
Apr 20, 2001

Inita

Jet lag, the heat, and maybe even those gooey crawfish are getting the best of Inita. She slips away quietly and goes to bed. Maybe she will feel better tomorrow.

21:45
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Good night Inita I think I will be turning in a bit too.

22:02
Apr 20, 2001

Aggie

"Moon, can you teach me how to make those cookies? Please? I am not eating BUGS!"

22:05
Apr 20, 2001

Moon smiles at Aggie, "sure thing. just mix a tin bit of water with the oatmeal, add a little sugar, thwen you need some fruit. the fruit juice will cook down into a syrup of sugars that make it crispy when you fry it. Just don't use too much sugar we only have a little and it has to last us a long time!"

22:07
Apr 20, 2001

Aggie

yawning "Moon tomorrow? I think the heat is making us sleepy."

22:08
Apr 20, 2001

Aggie

"Thanks Moon, goodnight"

22:11
Apr 20, 2001

Trey

Trey walks up pulling a bunch of Palm leaves, "Yo, dudes & dudettes, I found some roofing material for the new shelter. Some of the leaves were on the ground and are dry, but I climbed a coconut tree and cut off a few more bigs leaves. While I was up there, look what else I cut down. COCONUTS!!! This should be good for dessert, I thought maybe Aggie and anyone else who hasn't been eating or feeling well lately could drink the coconut milk for protien and the rest of us can eat the meat of the coconuts for dessert. What do ya think dudes?".

22:13
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

As Pierre is getting ready to check his sleeping bag he says that sounds good Trey.

Pierre picks up his sleeping bag and notices some sand fall out of it. and gets ready to hit something with the stick he picked up just in case!

22:19
Apr 20, 2001

From Colleen

you are doing great, but I need to remind you a little that Mother Nature (in this case me) decides how much fish or coconuts you get so please don't assume you could just find all the food you want. I hate to have to be the tuffie, but email me when you go out looking and I'll email back what you find. if you don't hear back from me assume you found nothing and have to live off your rice and oatmeal...

remember the name of the game folks... :)

22:24
Apr 20, 2001

Trey

"hey pierre??? Whats the deal with the sand? Why are you the only one who keeps getting sand in their sleeping bag? Are you rolling it back up after you use it? There is something wierd about this," Trey says as he quietly picks up a big stick too.

22:27
Apr 20, 2001

Trey

Oops! Sorry Ms. Mastermind Colleen, I just get so excited and caught up in the spirit. :)

22:30
Apr 20, 2001

From Colleen

s'okay, s'allright! but just so you know there may be days where you go hungry and days THEY go hungry and days NOBODY goes hungry... :) Everyone is doing great!!!!

22:33
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre waits patiently to see what else other thatn sand comes out of his sleeping bag. "Trey I just leave it out but from now on I will roll it up tight!

22:39
Apr 20, 2001

Trey

"Ms Colleen, Can I ask a question? You aren't planning on going on vacation anytime soon, are you? Hum, maybe we better start watching our supplies a little closer. Woo dude, bummer."

22:40
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Well nothing else fell out but sand. So he set down his sleeping back and walked over to the fire and put his stick in the fire. Hey every one remember no fires on Sundays and fishing and stuff so we need to think about what we are going to do for Sunday in the morning and plan for it. Good night I am going to sleep.

22:46
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Well nothing else fell out but sand. So he set down his sleeping back and walked over to the fire and put his stick in the fire. 22:46
Apr 20, 2001

Trey

"Night Pierre, I think I'm gonna turn in soon too. I'm just gonna sit by the fire for a few minutes and enjoy the cool evening and ocean breeze. Hum, If I would have known we were coming here I would have brought my surf board instead of soccer ball as my luxury item."

23:09
Apr 20, 2001

From Colleen:

anyone still awak can't help but wonder now that the Tribal council is surely over, what Ocono member is being sent home tonight? and when will it be their turn?

.

23:18
Apr 20, 2001

Aggie

Aggie wakes to see Trey sitting by the fire. "Hi Trey, why you still up?"

23:43
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Pierre wakes up and say's "I wish I knew who got kicked off of the other tribe some of those kids were nice."

23:46
Apr 20, 2001

Aggie

"Me too Pierre. I'd be worried I'd be the one."

23:49
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Aggie every one likes you I wouldn't worry about it.

23:53
Apr 20, 2001

Trey

"Aggie, I hope I didn't wake you up. My mind was drifting off thinking the same thing. Yeah, it could have gone either way. That could be us having to vote one of our own off. Then again, we might be doing it next week. Thats why we have to stay strong. Speaking of that, how are you feeling Aggie??"

"Pierre, you think they will tell us who got voted off? I hope so."

23:58
Apr 20, 2001

Aggie

"Thanks Pierre"

23:58
Apr 20, 2001

Pierre

Your welcome Aggie. I just tell the truth.

Trey I hope they do. I am kind of nervous about it and I don't know any of those people, that well.

00:01
Apr 21, 2001

Aggie aggie

"Trey, nope, I was having a hard time sleeping. I'm feeling alright, a lot better than before."

00:03
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

We just have to keep winning so that we don't have to vote on someone.

00:03
Apr 21, 2001

Aggie

"We can do it!"

00:09
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

Yea I agree with you Aggie we can do it. Just like they said in that great movie "Water boy" "You can do it" That movie looked like home to me.

i miss Home a little but this kinda looks like my swamp.

00:15
Apr 21, 2001

Aggie

"I'm really tired, so I am going to try and get some sleep now. Goodnight."

00:23
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

Good night Aggie

Trey I think I am going to bed too I am tired. are you going to be up much longer? if you are would you mind throwing a log on the fire?

00:31
Apr 21, 2001

Trey

"No problem Pierre, as soon as I throw some more wood on, I'm off to bed too. Yeah man, we can keep winning. Nite Aggie and Pierre. We have lots to do tomorrow."

Trey thinks about preparing for Sunday when they can't have fires, go fishing, Nuttin. Were gonna have to do everything tomorrow. Maybe those oatmeal cookies(cooked on Saturday) and coconuts and bananas(if we can find any) for meals on Sunday.

00:56
Apr 21, 2001

Trey

As Trey adds wood to the fire, he looks up at the sky and hopes tomorrow can be a good weather day. He then starts crawling in his sleeping bag but can't stop himself from shaking it out first. He just can't figure out where all that sand in Pierres bag is comming from. Hum, time to sleep. "Night all".

01:01
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

Pierre wakes up and adds wood to the fire and looks around and stretches. He thinks to himself today we have to get ready for no fire no fishing no hunting. He then leaves camp to go check on his trap.

10:25
Apr 21, 2001

Trey

Trey wakes up. Looks like Pierre is up, probably went out for more wood or mudbugs, he's an active guy. We have a lot to do today, have to cook and gather enough food for tomorrow. Yawning again, he quietly gets up and rolls up his sleeping bag and hangs it from the roof of the shelter. Better go use that nifty water pump to refill our water supply and put some water on the fire for oatmeal.

11:07
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

As Pierre wanders down the path to his trap he suddenly turns around and goes back to camp. He picks up his sleeping bag and shakes it out and then rolls it up tight and ties it into a roll. He puts it up, and heads back to check on his trap.

11:09
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

From Colleen

Good morning my little gerbils!!! (just kidding :) You have all done extremely well this week, as a reward (and so I can catch up on promised photos) assume you are mildly successful at any food hunting ventures today. Don't go overboard, but assume there is no problem finding what you are looking for in terms of food. the bananas are green and so is any person who eats seafood leftovers from yesterday. Remember only ripe coconuts fall on their own and they have no milk.

Warning! Today's weather warns of another scorcher heat index... the water feels cooler but don't stay out too long. Wind from the E (100 degrees) at 9 MPH, Visibility 10 mile(s), Sky conditions overcast, Showers in the vicinity, Towering cumulus clouds observed, Temperature 87 F, Heat index 98 F!!!!

Meggie

Meggie walks over to Aggie and Pierre and says good morning. SHe is also wondering who got voted off the island. It is a scary idea to think about. "How are you doing Aggie" she says.

SHe also thinks about stocking up some food that will stay fresh for tomorrow not including old seafood. "It is going to be hot again today....how about going for a swim???"

Apr 21, 2001

Aggie

"Great Pirre, need some help?"

13:07
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

Yea Aggie if you want to hold one over the fire I will hold the other one. Just watch me and do what I do. You'll want to turn them ever so slowly. If your arm gets tired let me know, that way someone else can do it and they won't end up in the fire.

13:09
Apr 21, 2001

Taking the stick from Pierre.

13:12
Apr 21, 2001

Meggie

"Pierre, that's super. Can I have one too. Wanna come swimming with me and Aggie after lunch?"

13:34
Apr 21, 2001

14:17
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

Pierre disappears into the woods and a little later he comes back with something in his hands.

He has 3 brown speckled eggs.

14:18
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

Here any body that wants to eat eggs here they are! Meggie you want more to eat what about you Aggie?

We still have to gather food for tomorrow. We can do that after a swim.

14:24
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

14:40
Apr 21, 2001

Apr 21, 2001

Moon goes to look at the meat Pierre brought back.

She sniffs them. "Ummm, thanks so much for getting them, but what are these Pierre?"

15:11
Apr 21, 2001

Meggie

Moom, come join us for a swim. Have you seen Inita, Lollie, Trey or Marissa?

15:31
Apr 21, 2001

Trey

Trey walks back in from the jungle(or woods) with his backback hanging low on his back. "Hey Moon, whats cooking? Smells mighty good, what is it?". He gently removes his backpack and hangs it under the shelter. He has found some food for tomorrow, but is afraid if he tells everyone. They will want to eat it today. So he says nothing about it. "hey Moon, looks like everyone is in the water swimming, why don't we go too? Last one in is a rotten egg!", Trey screams as he starts running for the beach.

15:39
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

Hey Moon they were some little critters that I caught in my trap.

Ready to go Swimming?

16:37
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

Hey we need to quit swimming and go get some food. I am going to climb some trees and get some coconuts down for the milk. Then I will go get some mangos.

18:50
Apr 21, 2001

Lolli

Sorry guys, I was just resting! This heat is really making me feel funny...Mommy doesn't usually let me spend a lot of time outside when it is really hot. The cookies were really good though! Thanks for making them. And, thanks for helping with the new shelter...now, we can maybe split up and have a little more room to call our own

Looks at water and thinks about her Mommy and Daddy and the other kids at home...boy, my sisters and brothers would really LOVE all this water! so would Mommy!

18:57
Apr 21, 2001

Marissa

" Wow, all this fooed has been great today"!! Marissa worries that the food will run out quickly as much as they are eating. Wonder where Piere's endless supply of seafood is! That boy could probably pull a rabbit out of his hat, just like he makes the food magicaly appear! I'm very thanksful that things haven't been so bad so far, but I know it's just the start! I'm sure glad I have such nice people on my team!

20:13
Apr 21, 2001

Marissa

" I'd like to help catch some food tomorrow if y'all don't mind!I'm learning so much about what is on this Island from the food we have found, and the things I've seen on my walks to the "potty ". My friends at home won't believe the things I've seen and done here" Marissa's feeling a bit homesick tonight, so she quiter than normal.

20:17
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

Hey remember we can't hunt or fish tomorrow, no fires either. Remember the local customs and laws.

20:20
Apr 21, 2001

Marissa

" Thanks for the reminder, I had forgoten. We will have to come up with another way to cook, or eat some of the cold fruits we have found!Should we go see if we can get some more banannas and coconuts, and limes ? If we can stockpile some, that will get us through the day"

20:24
Apr 21, 2001

Lolli

I'll help look for food! Where do we look? I know that someone had climbed a tree and found some cocanuts and another had said something about bananas...those would be good on oatmeal!

Looks around the group to see who wants to go looking too

20:27
Apr 21, 2001

Trey

"Hey guys, I went out this morning and got some fruits for tomorrow. I went back and got another ripe papaya(thats 2 left on the tree), a bunch of bananas that I left in my dark backpack to make them ripen faster, and a couple of ripe coconuts for the meat and 2 not yet ripe for the milk. I was thinking if we cooked some of those fabulous survivor oatmeal cookies, they would keep till tomorrow. What else can we have? Any ideas? Hey Pierre, is there any of your mystery meat left? I'm starving after play in the water all day. That was really fun!"

20:37
Apr 21, 2001

Lolli

I am hungry too...where is the food?

20:41
Apr 21, 2001

Trey

"Lolli, we can't heat any water for oatmeal. Thats why I thought the cookies would be good, maybe we could even make coconut oatmeal cookies, wouldn't that save on our sugar usage? Does everybody like coconut???"

20:41
Apr 21, 2001

Lolli

should we take a count of everything that we have? sort of an inventory like Daddy has to do at work? That way we will know what all we have?

20:41
Apr 21, 2001

Lolli

ooooo, i love coconut! :) those cookies sound really good! we do need to figure out who is going to sleep in which shelter, so we can move stuff and be ready for bed

20:44
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

hey i have sevral Mangos and some Coconuts ripe and the ones that milk in them Let me count.

OK that is 6 ripe coconuts and 5 with milk, and 7 mangos. Do you think we have enough for everyone for tommorow. I think all of the meat was ate but I am not sure I also have three boiled eggs.

21:30
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

hey remember not to put any wood on the fire tonight other wise we will have to pour water on it in the morning. Lets also put some dry logs and kindling under our back backs so that it stays dry, for Monday morning.

21:34
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

Also are we going to church in the Morning? I haven't seen any churches. Oh my Mommy is going to be mad if I miss church! Then Pierre looks like he is going to cry. Cajon boys hate making their Mommys mad!

21:36
Apr 21, 2001

Meggie

I don't know about church....I prefer to worship on my own in my own way. I really think that the idea of making more cookies tonite is a great one. And I LOVE coconuts!

Also, with all this heat, we need to try to store the fruit in a shady cooler place or they will all become soft and mushy too quickly, don't you all think??? Boy that swim felt good.

21:53
Apr 21, 2001

Aggie

"I'll make the cookies. Cookies and milk, yumm!"

Aggie grabs the oatmeal, coconuts, and some water.

21:56
Apr 21, 2001

Meggie

Here Aggie, I will be glad to help too.

22:10
Apr 21, 2001

Lolli

Anybody need any help?

If not, I think I am going to go and lay down for a little while...my tummy doesn't feel so good and my head feels really sort of light, but, it is pounding too...

22:46
Apr 21, 2001

Trey

I am going to run to the stream and restock the water. Let me grab the water filter. We will be ready in the morning for whatever, Pierre, I will go church with you tomorrow. We may not be able to find a church but I do remember seeing some little statues along the way, we could always use that as our church or set up our own on the beach. What better way to worship than on the beautiful beach. I'll be back soon with extra water."

23:03
Apr 21, 2001

Lolli

good night, sweet dreams you guys, see you in the morning...I don't know if I will be going to Church in the morning...

23:03
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

Thank you Trey, I guess we could have church on the beach. I guess we could just pray. You'll tell my mommy that I tried and did the best I could won't you? I wonder if Gia could tell my Mommy I tried?

Pierre starts to cry and goes to bed.

23:08
Apr 21, 2001

Pierre

One last thing if we bury the food in the sand in some shade it should keep it cooler. That way the fruit will taste like it came out of the refridgerator. I like my fruit cool.

I am sorry everyone but I donm't like it when I make my Mommy mad. It makes me sad.

23:11
Apr 21, 2001

Aggie

With the help of Meggie, the cookies are done.

Walking over to Pierre, "We understand Pierre, we lve to please our Mommy's too. I'll go to Church with you and Trey."

00:04
Apr 22, 2001

Aggie

"Goodnight everyone, I am to go to bed now. Feel better Lolli."

Getting her sleeping bag set for sleep.

00:08
Apr 22, 2001

Pierre

After crying for a long while he gets up and puts some ginger by Lollies sleeping bag. He touched her and said eat some of this and it will make you feel better. That is what my mommy gives me for an upset tummy.

00:48
Apr 22, 2001

Pierre

Goes and unrolls his sleeping bag and goes to sleep. Dreaming of his mommy.

00:49
Apr 22, 2001

Trey

"Pierre, I don't think your Mama will be mad at you. My Mama always told me that a church is just a shelter to hold the people inside who are worshipping. It's the people joining together to worship that makes it a church. So I think we should be able to have a church anywhere we can think about God, I feel closer to him on a beach, and I think this is the bestest beach I ever seen."

"Night everyone, remember in the morning no fires, no bikinis, no tank tops, no shorts. Thats gonna hurt cause I think I got a little sunburned today, we should have used a little lotion. Night everyone." Trey picks up a stick, as he goes to unroll his sleeping bag. He's not taking any chances. Hum, nothing.
