They walk down the beach about 5 minutes and slip into the forest at an opening in the trees. "It is right inside here, easy to get to we just don't come down this way much. Now, before we go much further I need to tell you this is just a start, and your got to use your imagination. Ok, we are here. TA DAH!"

"Ok, I told you to use your imagination, but it is a playground. Come here Aggie". He takes them to a pile of dirt as tall as himself, one side is a smooth and slants at about 30 degrees angle to the ground, the other side is bumpy. There are 8 banana leaves piled up neatly on the side. " See you grab a leaf, crawl up the bumpy side, and slide down the smooth side. Wheeee."

"Next we have a see-saw." As he points to a short log laying on its side, with another 7ft log lying across it and tied together with a vine rope."

"Next we have the swings, they are vine ropes I unwrapped from around the trees, Then tied a foot long branch on the bottom to swing on. And lastly, since Pierre & I like to climb so much, here are some more regular rope vines hanging down with a couple of knots in them for us to climb and swing from. I thought we could climb the trees and swing off of them like Tarzan."

Ocono wins! congrats!!! Ocono leaves challenge beach with a huge basket of fruit and veggies including apples, oranges, bananas, plums, grapes, tomatoes, lettuce, broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, and green peppers. Use it up fast since it won't last more than a day or 3 in this heat! Ocono also gets the beach blanket and beach umbrella, plus the plastic barrel to keep supplies in now.

A Kelly-sized fruit basket will be sent home with each Ocono winner

I found some coconuts only two of them. We have a problem. I am walking for hours, and I am not seeing that much food. I used to see fruit that was not yet ripe and figured to get it later but I have gotten all of it. I am walking for hours now. The food is getting scarce. We have to cut back! Either that or we are going to have to eat more Nutria. I hate to bring it up but it is getting hard to feed everyone. Lets discuss it. There are a lot of Nutria here. We could start eating that and just supliminting our intake with what little is left.

I told this to Pierre in email but will post it here too. Also, just in case Pierre didn't catch it, just because you guys leave fruit unpicked because it isn't ripe doesn't mean animals won't grab it before you check next! I have it on good authority ripe babanas are eaten almost immediately by the animals of kosrae so pick it while it's nearly ripe....

Basically you had 4 tubs of oatmeal, each held 25 cups, this was to last 8 weeks meaning you had approx 400 1/4 cup servings. the producers (me) worked on the premise of both teams losing equal partners, allowing for 2 weeks with 8 players, 2 weeks with 7 players, 2 weeks with 6 players, 2 weeks with 5 players, 1 week with 4 players then the merge and new food...I add that up to 392 servings... assuming you guys stuck to that serving size, you have used up 224 servings already leaving only 176 oatmeal servings... That's the only reason I mention it to keep you guys aware of the food situation... mind you in another 2 weeks or so more food/fruit will have come to growth/ripen, but you will have these periods every so often where you have used up the immediate available fruits. the taro there is still tons of since you have seldom used it. the giant clams are still fairly plentiful, but if you have them more than 1 or 2 times a week the clambed might become diminished too much. fish are still out there by the tons, crawfish are everywhere as are normal and cocnut crabs and even the spiny lobsters are still plentiful.

" Hey everyone, I think we are still Ok on oatmeal. When I fixed oatmeal this morning, there was still a little in the second barrel. Pierre we have been storing the Sunday cookies in the first barrel for the last 2 weeks. When I first measured out the oatmeal and we knew it had to last us for two weeks, I did it based on days not people. I think we have been stretching it with the fruit, but since we are running low on fruit, we probably need to be a bit more careful. There are 25 cups in a barrel but since we don't have a measurin' cup, I used my hands. About 2 double handfulls of oatmeal a day, using our little hands, has been lasting us for at least 2 weeks. Maybe I should get up and fish first and we could have Taro and fish for breakfast. That would be good."

"Seriously, what are ya killin?? It looks like a snake. Oh, its an eel, they are good to eat, just don't ever bother them when your in the water. They can get real mean". Trey tells the gang,"I found a few more fruits for tomorrow, it should be plenty combined with what we already have. I think I'll go ahead and make the Sunday cookies and store them in the, first oatmeal barrel. We should finish up the second barrel tonight. That will give us more storage space and keep us on track with our oatmeal."

Lollie follows Moon "Wait Moon! wait!" she catches up and hugs her. "You know we have to sometimes eat living things Moon. Pierre is just being a good hunter and cook for us. I know it's hard to watch sometimes, but it is just how nature is sometimes. We have to eat meat to be strong, and meat is from living things. I know a chicken right now would be wonderful, but chickens are alive too, and the fish we've eaten everyday was alive too."

I have never ate dog! I love dolphins! When we go on the shrimp boat, we watch for the dolphins because they will show you where the shrimp are and the fish. It is bad luck to harm a dolphin! we Never hurt a dolphin even before it was illegal! The only people I ever heard of hurting the Dolphins was the big company's but people like my uncle rely on the dolphin to find thier catch! Yes I have ate deer when it was killed in season and was a legal kill. Yes I have ate rabbit that was hunted during hunting season. We also have ate rabbit when they were raised as food. We are poor and we survive on what we catch and hunt. But My daddy taught me to always pray before you kill something so that my supreme being know's I am doing it for food. and for the animal doesn't feel pain. I never kill anything with out praying for it and me. No one in my family has ever killed and animal because it had a big rack in the case of a deer or any other dumb reason like that, we kill to survive! There aren't many jobs where I come from and you do what you have to, to survive! I always pray before i kill an animal even a nutria!

Trey

Trey wakes up to the beautiful singing at the churches. It is always nice to wake up to. He changes into his modest clothes, grabs a piece of fruit, and walks down to the beach. He goes out to his favorite place on the little rock cliff to say his prayers. He prays for unity in his team and that they all continue to get along as well as they have in the past. Everyone is getting tired and homesick and a little grippy. He also says a prayer for his family and friends at home.

"Sorry I didn't get to talk to you last night before you went to bed. You know I think you are the best. We are so lucky to have you on out team. Please don't get your feelings hurt by Moon. I thinks she is very homesick, and has never had to kill anything to stay alive, then again, neither have I, but I understand about the survival techniques. You have kept up healthy. I saw your face when you went came back to get the knofe to kill the nuetra. You were not happy about doing it, you were very stressed. I am sorry you have to go through this to keep us from being hungry. Thank you Pierre."

I didn't sleep well last night maybe Moon is right. Maybe I don't have enough sorrow when I kill, and I have killed a lot since I have been here. It is starting to bother me. I just need to think about it. How about if we start eating a lot of Taro from now on right now there is a lot of it and I could get enough of it to feed us. I think it will last a while! And it is real healthy to eat!

"What does everybody think of getting the water and the cookies, and going to the playground. I think everyone got upset about what happened and we need a break, and the playground should be a fun break."

"On a more serious note, the thing that worries me most is the fact you caught an eel in the net. Remember, I love to surf and know a lot about the marine life habits. They usually don't bother anyone unless they are bothered first or they are hunting for food. They live in holes in the rocks and only come out when they are hungry or defending themselves. They have very sharp teeth, and could hurt any of us, easily. I think they saw the other fish in the net and thought they were fair game for dinner. maybe we should start bringing the fish in as we catch them or put them on a stringer far away from us like Pierre did. We just need to be more careful.

I really think we need to go talk to Moon and try to make her understand that fish and other things we eat are not like dogs or pets."

"Remember when we each had to write something to the Ocono tribe. Did they ever write something to us? I must have been swimming or sleeping then. I don't remember ever hearing anything."

"Moon, noone is mad at you, please relax. We know you are really upset with Pierre, but he really did have to kill that eel before it hurt one of us. Since it was caught in the net it would have been really hard to get him out of there without it attacking whoever let it go. Yes it was hungry and thats why it was in the net because he was wanted to eat the fish in the net too. But that is how nature is, some animals live off of fruits and grass, but some live off of other animals. Remember, we are playing a game, and its name is survival. Right now we are running out of fruit(except taro) and are going to have tostart eating more fish and meat. We have to stay healthy and Pierre has done a great job keeping us feed. We want you to stay healthy too."

"Why don't you come on down, we still have cookies for dinner, and I think we are all pretty hungry right now."
