Hello everyone! So we are one tribe that is good and this works out pretty good coming over here. We have tapped out our food supplies over at our camp pretty much. It was a while there were we had trouble finding fruit and stuff.

Miss Colleen I do have a request. Can I go and set any animals free that are in my traps? I jsut want to pull the traps out of the water and release the ones already caught so that they don't suffer.

"Follow Lola and I! We'll show you all the nice parts of our camp!" says Mandy as she motions her new tribe mates to camp. As they walk along the path, the girls point out the lime tree, the banana trees, and the orange trees. "I'll show you my fish trap later," says Mandy. "It ususally catches at least two or three fish a day." "Once we even caugh an eel in there!" she says excitedly.

The children arrive at camp and Mandy and Lola can tell that they are shocked at how sparse it is. "It really has been a comfortable home," says Mandy. "We put fresh leaves on the ground under the shelter every few days to make the bedding more comfortable." "The bathroom areas are down those paths," Mandy motions. "The boys go over there and the girls down this path." "Please, have a seat and get comfortable." "Later, we can play some games! We have Monopoly, cards, horseshoes, and I have a soccer ball," says Mandy. "Welcome!"

Mandy brings out some coconut half bowls and Lola helps her serve cool water to everyone. Mandy continues her introduction..."Down that path over there is a wonderful stream. We get our water there and boil it to purify it." Mandy continues..."Down stream is a great bathing area and we still have plenty of shampoo if any of you would like to get cleaned up. It is really refreshing when it is hot!"

Mandy looks at the new members and says, "By the way, I want to thank you for the cookie recipe. We've made the Taro/Banana cookies almost every week since you sent that recipe. They are very good!" "Here, we saved some for all of you." She says as she opens up the airtight jar that had held fruit for the earlier challenge. She passes around the cookies to everyone and they happily munch...

Mandy returns with the water and starts to boil it over the fire. Since no one has returned from their gathering of foods, Mandy decides to go over and make a second fish trap. After all, it stands to reason that if one trap can catch 2 or 3 fish, that two will catch just as many. Mandy starts gathering sticks to create the second trap and then wades into the water to place them in a big box shape...

"Sorry guys, I didn't mean to disappear on you but as soon as we walked up and saw you had no shelters, I remembered seeing this bamboo lying a ways off the path we were on. I didn't want to forget where it was so I turned around and ran back for it. I found these palm leaves too. With the bamboo we can make a shelter frame and the palm leaves will make a good roof. All we need now is some vines to tie everything together with.".

Trey looks around, "Hey, who are all of you and what did you do to my team. If they were around here I could smell them, and I don't smell nothin but clean." Laughing

before the island drops service for 8 and linen tablecloths (grin) I just wanted to point out that bamboo doesn't just lay around, and Pierre had the knife for what he was doing... you could have gathered some leaves, and a few poles, but not too many. The island is generous folks, but it isn't Home Depot or a supermarket. if you use up too much fruit at once you'll have another dry spell without any, I just wanted to point that out...You're doing great!

(be realistic in what you have these kids carrying, if we feel you overload the kids, they will be too tired and will do poorly in the challenges or drop stuff, maybe breaking it)

Mandy sits down next to Aggie and starts to eat her fish and some of the fruit salad. "Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, that salad is great!"

LOL Since Pierre and Mandy did a great and fast job of making traps it might be better just to make some more when we get there. We can always wait and see what else we have to carry. Do you still have the big wooden box we originally got our supplies in? We could always use that for storage and/or a table. The cook pot should come too. Any extra spices or anything? We have plates we won in a reward challange, so we can leave teh coconuts shells here. We need to leave the campsites the way we found them. I get up early in the mornings so I can start burning some things. Is that OK with you? This is your home, we were obviously sent here to help you in any way we can. just mentioning a few things around the camp that I didn't see mentioned.. there is a net hammock between 2 trees, they do not have their ocono big box, but they do have 4 oatmeal wooden barrels, plus the clear airtight fruit bucket. Thye have the same pot nicarong got, plus the extra frying pan they won. there are 4 wooden bowls I believe, and also some half-coconuts, and 3 or 4 huge bowl-sized giant clam shells. there are the games mentioned, Roxie's big pillow as mentioned, the vitamins are pretty empty as are the oatmeal containers. they did win cards, alka seltzer and binoculars at the luau. Their sunscreen is almost all gone, but you should get more of that tomorrow. they have the same tarp and knife, netting and canteen/water jugs nicarong has at the old camp.

for the record, ocono's fish trap is a shaped formed by stakes in the water, making a directional trap/path for fish to swim thru and makes it hard for them to find the way out.

Trey wakes up with a start when an arm flops on his head. "Huh? What? Who was that?" As he wakes up he sees it just on of his new tribe. HE slowly movers her arms back so he doesn't wake her. Then quietly slips out from under the covers.

He looks around, puts 2 more stumps on the fire, and grabs a piece of fruit for breakfast. These oranges a really good. We didn't have any of them at the old camp. Trey isn't sure whether he should cook fish for breakfast or not. He is still full from last nights feast.

She comes across the bottle of betadine and shakes it. It seems to still have quite a bit, so she saves it. The emergency flare is still there too. "Ah, there's the compass! I wondered what happened to that!" she says as she runs across it. She packs these essential items into the toiletry basket with the shampoos and takes the basket over to where they are piling stuff to bring. She had already repacked her backpack with clothing and placed it there. She grabs the deck of cards and packs it into the backpack. She carefully places the horseshoe game and the monopoly game into the pile along with her soccer ball.

"Okay, I'm going to take the cook pot and knife and break down the fish traps. If there are any fish, I will clean them and bring them back to cook. See you all in a little while..."

Mandy goes to the first trap and sees that there is just one lone fish in there. She scoops him out and puts him into the cook pot until she can clean him. She starts plucking the sticks out of the mud in the water. She makes a nice neat pile of sticks on the beach. She will carry them back into the forest when she is finished. She works for quite awhile dismantling the first trap. She then moves on to the second...

"Oh, no!" she shrieks when she gets to the second trap.

Once it is safe to do so, Mandy finishes taking apart the traps. She then carries the wet and soggy twigs into the forest and places them in the brush to dry. Upon returning to the beach, she rinses out the cooking pot and returns to camp.

"Okay, the traps are dismantled!" "Let's pack up what dishes we want to bring and stack them by the pile of stuff. We want to cook pot. I guess we can keep Wanda's forks, but let's get rid of the coconut bowls and seashell bowls since you have better dishes." "I think we should keep all four oatmeal barrels. They would be handy to keep things in." "While we lost our crate long ago, we still have the lid. Should we keep it or burn it?" asks Mandy.

"Oh, my gosh! I almost forgot to pack the rubber gloves and the Keri lotion!" Mandy runs over and grabs those items and adds them to the toiletris. "Here, we have this great airtight jar from the fruit challenge. We definitely want to keep this! It is great for storing Taro cookies!" Mandy rolls the large jar over to where the other things are piles.

"I'll roll up the net," says Mandy as she heads off toward where it is piled haphazardly on the beach...

The girls return to camp with a few oranges they picked on their way back. "Trey, there's not much else to do, actually." "Lola will pack her own things. We can take down the tarp from our old shelter. Also, we need to grab the beach umbrella...I don't think we did that yet. The last time I saw it, it was propped in the sand on the beach."

Mandy hungrily tears open an orange. All this work has made her a little hungry!

Lola wakes up, takes care of business, then packs up her clothes and book in her backpack. She eagerly greets the kids who are already awake and working. "Good morning! Boy, you guys sure get an early start!" She looks around at all the stuff piled up on the blanket. "What can I do to help? We have the pillow and games. It looks like you have most of the supplies taken care of." She grabs an orange and begins to peel it. "I'm not really hungry, but I don't know what we'll find in the new camp. Hey, did we end up opening the two cans last night or not? I was so stuffed with fish and lobster and fruit, I didn't pay attention. If not, we will want to take them and the can opener tothe new camp."

"Good morning, Lola! No, I don't think we ever did eat the last two cans since everyone was filled with the fruit salad, Taro, fish, and lobster." says Mandy as she searches for the cans. "Oh, here they are! We definitely want to bring these!" she says as she adds them to the pile.

"I think we are pretty much ready. We can wear our back packs and everyone can help carry a side or corner of the blanket. With eight of us, it should be fairly easy to carry everything right on top of the blanket, I'd think."

There is a mild breeze from the northeast, but you only get a hint of it from where you are. Light showers today do not make for a fun trip dragging the blanket, plus Lola and Mandy do recall that there are place that only one person can walk on the path to Challenge Beach. the blanket idea might work, but it might be kind of tricky. take your chances if you wish to...
