Immunity Challenge #11: Difficult Puzzles

The easy puzzles are each worth 12 points if solved correctly, and they are solved most easily. They cost $20 per puzzle.

The medium ones are each worth 16 points and are medium level difficulty. They each cost $15.

Finally, the highest level of difficulty are each worth 25 points if successfully solved. They each cost only $10, but are much more difficult to complete.

Each player decided how they spent their $60, on 6 hard puzzles, 4 medium puzzles, 3 easy puzzles, or some combination of that.

Difficult Puzzle #1: "Globetrotters"
5 pts. for each complete correct line; 25 pts. for all
incomplete lines get no points.
Each line needs the names of husband and wife, destination, how they traveled, and why they went.

5 couples decide it is finally time to make the trek to keep a promise to visit. Each couple travels via a different method to a different place for a different reason. Cruise the clues to map out the answers and let me know each couples' names, destination, mode of travel, and reason for going.

Uri is on his way to visit his son, but not by way of an airplane. Warren and his wife take a limo to a movie premiere. Felice and her husband are going to Aspen to see their agent about their next novel. The couple going to Hong Kong to see their new grandchild is traveling on a ship. The woman going to L.A. and Gustave's wife have rhyming names. Betsy is going to Burbank. Zora's husband is neither Jock, nor the man going to Miami to see his siblings. The man on the airplane and the woman on the bus have names that end in the same letter. Henry's wife is not Mimi. Dora is the woman on the train, but her husband isn't Henry. Mimi is not going to Miami. Uri is not going to L.A.

Difficult Puzzle #2: "Wing It"
5 pts. for each complete correct line; 25 pts. for all
incomplete lines get no points.
Each line needs first and last names, and the name, color and breed of their bird.

5 birdlovers are each flapping their beaks about their beloved pets, each one with a different name, color, and breed. Fly through the clues telling me each aviaphile's first and last name, their bird's name, color, and breed.

Johnny and Mr. Joker have birds whose names end in the same letter, though neither bird is the parrot. Neither Karla nor Mr. Diamond own Daffodil, the yellow cockatiel. The budgie is neither blue nor green, and is not named Pansy. Ned owns Mum, but is not the man who owns the parrakeet. Rita Spade doesn't own the bird named Daisy. None of the birdlovers have a first name that begins with the same letter as their pet's name, although one of the men has a last name that begins with the same letter as his pet's name. David has a red macaw, but his last name isn't Hart. Mr. Clubs does not own Rosie but his bird is the white one. The blue bird belongs to someone of the opposite gender than the owner of the yellow bird.

Difficult Puzzle #3: "Junk Food Junkie"

incomplete lines get no points.
Each line needs a name, clothes: top and bottom, food they loved and drink they hated.

Nicky and her 4 friends pop off to the local carnival to taste the food. Each of the 5 loves a food and hates a beverage. Sample the clues and feed me the answers, naming each person, what they wore for a top, and for a bottom, their favorite food and least favorite drink.

Nicky was lovely in a red halter with white jeans. The man in the yellow polo loved the hot dogs but hated the cider. Of the 3 friends wearing jeans, the first was Marianne, the second hated the milkshakes, and the third loved the pizza. Lonny loved the cheeseburgers. Of the three men, the first wore blue jeans and green tank top, the second was Patrick in black leather pants, and the third loved the tacos and hated the iced tea. The person who hated the lemonade was neither Mark, nor the woman in the black jeans. The person in the gold sweater loved the fried chicken. The man in the black poet's shirt and brown shorts was not the one who hated the root beer.

Difficult Puzzle #4: "D-I-V-O-R-C-E"

Each line needs the couples first names, last name, grounds for divorce and state they filed in.

Five couples have alas come to a parting of the ways, each for different reasons, and each in a different state. These clues are not irreconcilable. Give me a no-fault answer and tell me each Couples first and last names, their reason for divorce, and the state in which they dissolved their vows.

Oliver and Barbara get a no-fault divorce in Indiana. Mr. Brickey divorces his wife for adultery, but her name isn't Joanna. Mrs. Kincaid's first name begins with the letter J but her husband's name does not begin with the letter M. Mr. Blansky and his wife file for divorce in California, but his name isn't Ted. Miranda is divorced for reasons of desertion by her husband who is neither Martin nor Mr. Kincaid. Daniel Hillman gets his divorce in Wisconsin. Lucy and Albert file with irreconcilable differences. Laura's case is filed in Maine, but her last name isn't Ruttle. The woman who divorces her husband on the grounds of mental cruelty files in Pennsylvania.

Each line needs the couple's names, destination city, airline, and the performer they are going to see.

5 couples each set out for vacation to see a special performer in a different city, each couple traveling in a different mode of transport. Without much glitz or glamour, tell me each couple's names, who they went to see, in what town, and how they got there.

Bill is on his way to see Tom Jones, but not by way of United. Walter and his wife take Delta to see Barbara Streisand. Glory and her husband are going to Atlantic City to see Neil Sedaka. The couple going to Dallas to see Boy George is traveling on American Airlines. The woman going to NYC and Kurt's wife have rhyming names. Dolores is going to Vegas. Mina's husband is neither Jack, nor the man going to Chicago to see David Bowie. The man on United and the woman on USair have names that end in the same letter. Charles' wife is not Lorelei. Difficult Puzzle #6: "What's up with Hue?"
5 pts. for each complete correct line; 25 pts. for all
incomplete lines get no points.
Each line needs the first and last name, the color and room being painted and the street where she lives.

5 women are all remodeling, focusing this week on one room of the house. Each one decides to redo the walls in a different color. Mix the clues well and tell each woman's first and last name, what room she is painting, and what color paint is being used.

Tabitha and Mrs. White on Oak Blvd are the only two women painting bedrooms. Kelly Brown, who chose the color blue is neither on Cedar Ave. nor painting her dining room. The only woman whose first and last names begin with the same letter chose the color green. No woman chose a color that matched her name. Rita Black lives on Willow Dr. but is not the one getting a pink bathroom. Kelly's sister is Mrs. Gold, but neither of them lives on Maple St. The woman painting her master bedroom isn't the gal who chose the color white. Wanda is good friends with the woman painting her kitchen, but neither of them is the woman who chose the color black. The guest bedroom being painted is not on Walnut Lane and it belongs neither to Betty, nor to her best friend Mrs. Green.
