Tribal Council # 9
Kansi Tribe

The walk from Kansi Camp to Tribal Council is a little longer than from the other camps, and it gives the kids more time to think about the game and the strategies needed to survive.

It was still light when they leave their camp and as the sun sets it is like someone is dropping a lid down over the island, dark shadows flicker in the light of their torches. One by one they enter the clearing where Gia awaits them

Gia looks at the faces of the new Kansi Tribe as they must choose their first member to kick off the tribe and into the jury. She says, "Welcome Kansi. From all I can see you have become a new tribe, friendly and equal and open with each other. that is a very good thing."

Gia looks around and walks to stand near Lola, pointing to the immunity necklace of coral and shells.

Gia says "Lola won the immunity so no one can vote for her this week. I have a question for all of you, but before I ask it, I want to remind you all that the rules have now changed."

She continues, "It is now a game about individuals, each person ultimately deciding their own path. one on one now each of you must compete, becoming part of the jury if you are voted off. when only two players remain, the jury will choose between them, voting to see who wins the prizes, the bonus and the title of Lil Survivor. I just have one more thing for each of you to do before I ask my question."

Gia then brings out a large suitcase and hands it to the person closest to her. she says "pass that around and feel its weight." The case is heavy and the kids can barely lift it. Each child passes it down the row until finally it comes back to Gia. She sets it on a rock and opens the lid and the kids gasp as they see it is full of money, hundred dollar bills in neat little stacks.

Gia says "This is 1 million KKdollars. it's a lot, and that is just to remind you of what you are playing for. This suitcase and many other prizes will go to the single sole survivor. Play well."

Gia then turns to ask each player the following question, "Instead of asking what has KEPT each of you in the game, I'd like each player to name one thing that they LEAST like to see in their tribemates, and if present would almost guarantee your vote for them at tribal council."

Mandy answers first, saying "The one thing I least like to see in my tribe mates is rudeness. If someone is rude on purpose, they are disrupting the peace of the group and I hate that!"

Briene then replies "The thing I least like to see in my tribemates is laziness - not helping around camp. So far everyone seems to be pitching in great."

Trey's reply is short and to the point. "Simple, if they are a troublemaker!" he says.

Pierre says "I think Loyalty is the most important thing in life and that would make disloyalty the one thing I cannot tolerate. "

Lola doesn't hesitate as she sums up her feelings in one word. "Laziness," she says.

"What I would least like to see in my teammates is meanness and nastiness to others," says Meggie.

Aggie answers Gia's question "I guess it would be laziness or no caring about the rest of our teammates."
Lolli thinks for a little while before answering "the characteristic that I think that I would like least to see in my tribe mates would be if they were to not care at all about other people's feelings, not care about the welfare of the tribe and it's members...that is what I have always used as my criteria to vote someone off with...Does this person care about the welfare of our tribe? Does this person care about the other members? Is this person here to help the others, whether it be to cook/clean, or just to listen when they need to talk? I know that we are here to be the one that outplays, outtypes and outlasts...but, we have to get thru it together and someone who doesn't care about others is someone that I don't think is a true survivor!!!"

Gia nods as each player then walks to the ballot box and must write down the name of the first player to be banished from Kansi. The last player to vote brings the colorful drum to Gia.

Gia takes the drum and says "As I read these votes, think of that bench over there. By the end of the next 5 tribal councils, that bench will be full of the jury, who will decide the winner of the game."
The children watch and listen as Gia opens the drum and begins to read the votes.

The first she pulls out reads "Bri"
The second vote reads "Meggie"
The third vote reads "Bri"
Gia puts the votes in stacks.

The fourth vote reads "Bri".
Brienne gulps and looks resigned to her fate.
The fifth vote reads "Mandy"
Lola reaches over to hold Mandy's hand.

The sixth vote reads "Meggie"
Gia pauses to say "That's 3 votes for Bri, 1 for Mandy and 2 for Meghan."
The seventh vote reads "Meggie" and Gia says, "we may have a tie."
She pulls out the last vote. It reads "Meggie".

Lollie begins to cry as Meggie looks up at Gia. Trey, Pierre and Aggie just look utterly shocked.

Gia says "Meghan, the tribe has spoken, please bring me your torch." Meghan slowly walks over to Gia and her torch flame is doused. She picks up her backpack and walks from the tribal council. The kids look numb, but they slowly begin the walk back to Kansi Camp.

Meghan calms down enough to look at the camera, but has no final words to share.
