Under the Pink Tori has a charming Steffie face, lips repainted a light coral, eyes a pale greyish blue, and Stephanie did a wonderful job on the eyebrows.
The hair is wavy and forms the perfect tendrils around her face.

The gown is modeled after the white gauzy cotton gown Tori wears for the album art on "Under the Pink." Stephanie added a few changes though, including a wonderful gauzy net cape as an homage to the cape worn at Tori's wedding. The dress made by Stephanie has a finished yoke on the bodice because she wanted it to be durable. In the CD art, Tori's dress is frayed and raveled at the edges (but I much prefer the cleancut edges, thanks Steph!).

From Stephanie: "The doll, actually, was one that I had had since childhood. I still have
all of my old 80's barbies, and she was a Midge. Sometimes, when I feel the
need, I use one of them that I can't find the original clothes or something
for, for my makeovers. And she seemed so perfect. . ."

From the pouting lips to the waifish expression in the eyes and the soft curling tresses of her hair, my Under the Pink Tori from Stephanie is truly beautiful to me and will be treasured always in my collection.

In Tori's own words:
"Under The Pink is a place, it's an internal place. It's the inner
world, the inner life. You have to listen from your stomach. To
me it's all there. But you've got to be willing to put your
moccasins on and walk down the road."

If you are very lucky sometimes, as you craft a doll she seems to come alive, and this was one of those times. As I photographed the Vitamin T Tori I made for Stephanie, I found myself playing with her as I snapped pictures, and each picture I took gave me ideas for a dozen more.
