| I find
that I spend a lot of time on Cape Ann, a beautiful peninsula about 40 miles
northeast of Boston. Come with me now and let's visit a few of the reasons
I go there. |

A guest house in Rockport.

The
New England locale of Cape Ann is evident in the architecture
of its churches. This is St. Anne's Church. If the tin
coated steeple seems oddly small, it is because it replaces
a bigger steeple that blew down in a Nor'easter some years
ago. I guess that discretion is the better part of architecture.

Many
of the Our Lady's parishioners are fishermen as well.
Our Lady hold a boat in her hand, the symbol of a safe
voyage. This is the second statue of Our Lady; the first
was carved in wood seventy years ago and got a bad case
of rot. The current model is in fiberglass.

Our Lady of Good Voyage is a predominantly
Portuguese parish.

|
The
design is modeled on a church in the Azores.
