Not all monuments conspicuously declare
the name of the person celebrated or the artist who was
hired to celebrate them. Here is a granite carving which
practices such modesty.

The carving is by Lorado Taft who created
Eternal Silence. It is in memory of Victor Lawson the publisher
of the Chicago Daily News. Get it? The suggestion is that
Larson was a crusader of his own kind, as he was.
