Rosehill Civil War Memorials

Rosehill has a large number of Union Civil War veteran graves. This column commemorate the four services that fought in the battles with brass plaques around its base.

A detail from the base of the column.

This "rock" was consciously chosen to be a memorial to the George Thomas chapter of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR). General Thomas earned his reputation as "the rock of Chickamauga" where his leadership of a valiant defense prevented a Southern victory turning into a Northern catastrophe.

A plaque on the "rock" placed by the GAR.
