Above is an image written in the sand. The marks of people, sea
gulls, dogs and the wind weave a temporary tapestry on the sand.
The sand itself was a thin layer blown on concrete from a nearby
beach. Later that day the wind picked up considerably and the image
was erased forever.
The nearly lurid tones of a sunset I photographed from my apartment
window contrast sharply with the tan tones of the previous Chicago
image. Don't be jealous, we don't get many sunsets as glorious as
this one.
