A Walk Along the Lake in a Dense Fog
Every once in a great while, Chicago will be swallowed up by a really dense fog. That happened today, the day after Thanksgiving. So my sequel to a pleasant Turkey Day spent in the company of friends was this wonderful, muted, gray-lit day. The temperature was in the 50s and the day called for a walk. And so I did.I ambled down Halsted to Belmont and then over to the lake. The closer to the lake the heavier the fog was. Dense, but not enveloping. You could still see the shadows of nearby bushes and trees but all the details were softened and gently masked.
Here are some of my sights and thoughts from that day.
