This page is the stepping off point for
a virtual tour of Chicago, a most fascinating city. There is so much to
see in the "Windy City" that it is hard to know how to organize
it effectively. So, let's just plunge into it. At the end of each "segment"
of your tour, return here an wander down another pathway.This page is
for images of Chicago; not the tourist board version of the city but my
version -- the city I live in, the city of broad shoulders, the city that
is always under construction. Here is how I see it--what my camera captures.
Postcard images of the John Hancock, the Sears building, and the like
will be included but so will some of the eclectic, fascinating, dingier
elements as well. I am not going to attempt to be balanced but I am going
to attempt to capture Chicago in its many different aspects. I will add
them as I take them, giving a brief commentary so that someone who does
not know the city can perhaps get a feel for what it is like to live here.
The pictures will change with time, with the seasons, with the weather,
with local events, with anything that moves me to notice Chicago as a
changing, evolving experience. Enjoy.
