A Virtual Tour of Chicago's North Side

If you don't know Chicago, here is a map that shows the well know points. As you can see, I live on Irving Park Road, right near the lake. I am about 5 miles (40 blocks) due north of the "Loop," the traditional center of downtown. The Loop is still the center of government, commerce and business in Chicago despite the migration of much of the retailing to the "Boul Mich" further north along Michigan Avenue.
The numbers on the map to the left show the location of the 77 officially identified neighborhoods of Chicago. I live at the northern edge of Lakeview (6) and I once worked near the Loop (32). For the longest while I knew nothing in between. Gradually I biked around the city and got a little bit of a feeling for it. It's a great city, a big city and a wonderful place to live.
