Four Seasons Ski and Adventure Club is primarily a social club made up of a group of people looking to go on an adventure. Of course everyone's idea of an adventure is a little different, so we end up doing a variety of things. Although we started as a ski club, and some of us still do ski trips, skiing is no longer our primary activity, and many members don't ski.
We are mostly age 25 to 40 something, living in the Western Suburbs of Chicago (around Naperville & Lisle). We're about evenly mixed, male and female. We used to be almost exclusively single, except that a number of our members have married each other in the last few years. Most of the couples in the club met at the club.
Activities range from trying out the latest micro-brewery or restaurant, to backpacking, whitewater rafting, or skiing the double blacks. For the latest event list, check out the events section.
Through October, we are meeting at Two Rivers Sports Bar in Bolingbrook. It's a little south for most of our members, but Two Rivers has been good to us. Take Naperville Road South out of Naperville. It's on the left (East) side, a bit North of Boughton Rd. in Bolingbrook. Starting in November, we are moving the meeting location to Taylor Brewing in Naperville. Taylor Brewing is a very nice restaurant and microbrewery located in Fifth Avenue Station in Naperville. Fifth Avenue Station is located on Fifth Avenue, just East of Washington Street. Fifth Avenue is between Maple Avenue (Chicago) and Ogden, on the north side of the tracks. Generally, we meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, but we generally change this to the first and third Wednesday in November and December to avoid Thanksgiving and Christmas. Meeting time is 8:00 PM ski club time (maybe 8:15). Guests are always welcome.
