If there ever was a more accurate historian in the rennaissance fashion arena than Alison, I have yet to find him or her. Sarena's gowns are nothing short of brilliant, with full zippers, lined undergarments, full facings, completely removable layers and details unimaginable to most professional doll artists. But wait! there's more! They are also historically accurate and true to each period!

When you read one of her auction listings she doesn't just mention fabrics and colors. You get a free history lesson as she relates how a particular style of houppelande was popular from early to mid 1400's, or details of when and in whose royal court a certain style was first worn. Be prepared to learn the difference between a sideless surcote and a tabard, between a cauled hennin and a tippetted liripipe.

When I first "met" Sarena she was selling the gowns alone and now sells the ensembles on ooak dolls. It has been my joy to own more than a dozen of her creations and an even greater joy to see the value of her designs rise to their proper level. I almost felt guilty winning such masterpieces for under $20. Her creations go for much more now and deservedly so. Here are but a few of the gems I have won from her on Ebay. You cannot truly appreciate their intricate details and sumptuous fabrics from mere photos, but do try.

None of these dolls or gowns shown are for sale, sorry! All rights belong to the artists involved.
