TITLE: ricotta cookies
  REFERENCE: georgette


   2 cups sugar                     1/2 lb butter
   3 eggs                           4 cups flour
   1 tsp baking soda                1 lb ricotta drained





  Combine all ingredients one at a time mixing well after each
  addition.  Drop by spoonfuls onto a greased sheet.  Bake 7-9
  minutes (will not brown).  Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

  Frosting - optional:
     3 cups powdered sugar
     1/2 tsp vanilla
     1 tblsp hot water

  Drizzle over cookies.
