Spirituality
and prayer probably would help science gain more of a complete picture
of
how consciousness interfaces with creation.
Spindrift
contends that the energy of spirituality acts through one's consciousness
to
produce more order in one's life and in healing.
Underlying this spiritual energy is an information base rooted in nonlocal consciousness.
This spiritual energy contributes to the process of evolution and to the increase of order in healing.
ACTIONS OF THE ORDERING-FORCE
Spindrift calls the consciousness
that increases order in the universe the "ordering-force."
Spindrift describes the
ordering-force
as "the universal ordering-power." This term
ordering-force could
be an acceptable way to describe a universal God.
The ordering-force
brings "ordering-effects" to evolution and healing. Ordering-effects
define the patterns of evolution
which describe a person, place, or thing. A healing is the
return to the normal pattern
of ordering-effects needed by the situation.
As
far as is known, the Klingbeils were the first to introduce the terms “ordering-force”
and
“ordering-effects.”
Bruce
and John Klingbeil found the definitions below useful for their experiments.
"Prayer is a force that brings increasing evidence of order to its object."
"Normalizing prayer is an ordering-mechanism that changes physical systems."
Granted there are more appealing definitions of prayer on the planet. The above definitions of prayer are meant to be helpful in isolating measurable factors of changing order during a test.
On a radio show the host
asked, "Does prayer work?" Since Spindrift was a scientific group
one couldn't just answer
the question the way the host wanted which was "Yes, prayer works!"
What Bruce said was, "What we can say is that within the parameters of
a test, prayer works."
A BRIEF
HISTORY OF
SOME
KEY TIMES AND MOVES
The Klingbeils’ preliminary research of healing by human consciousness, prayer, and the placebo response began in 1969, in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Full-time research began in January 1975, in Schaumburg, Illinois. Basic science was done on test subjects such as mold, seeds, bacteria, yeast, yogurt, the remote viewing of cards, and the influence of consciousness on electronic circuits. Defense mechanisms in man were also studied. In late 1977, Bruce and John purchased an Apple II computer which began automating the way measurements were taken of tests of human consciousness and prayer on healing. The Apple computer also brought progress in understanding how randomness, which represented disorder, could be modified to become congruent with general order. The emergence of general order defined the norms of what constituted a successful healing
in a healing experiment. A successful healing experiment was when quality prayer referenced an agreed-upon order which emerged in the tested subject. As computers improved, new ways to improve the experiments followed.
In 1977, Bruce was asked by his church headquarters to stop experimenting with prayer. So John Klingbeil took on all the scientific experimenting with Bruce providing ideas and support for John. In the bean tests, John counted thousands of beans until his fingers were bloody. Several times in the early 1980’s, a statistician was hired to analyze the experimental data. Spindrift incorporated in Illinois in 1981. In 1982, Bruce and John moved to Palatine, Illinois.
In 1983, the church insisted that Bruce could not “believe in” the experiments any longer and remain a Christian Science practitioner. Bruce would not “recant” his belief in the experiments of prayer on healing. The church punished Bruce by removing him as a practitioner. In 1984, from
a financial loss of income from being removed as a practitioner, Bruce and John moved to Salem, Oregon. The research continued in Salem, where living expenses were more reasonable.
