Q: The movie's opening titles broke with tradition and did not have the Doctor's face in them. Was this only because the regeneration hadn't happened yet in the storyline, or did you just not want it there?

Phil: The new doctors face did not appear in the main titles because, it would have meant nothing to an American audience. I'm not speaking about the fans who already knew the show but the fans we were trying to attract.
